Film Handler Planning

Plan around verified machine settings and produce operator guidance without implying electronic machine control.

Saved machine profiles

A profile can store the machine name, maximum width, cutter-head count, calibration-related settings, and changeover or cleanup-pull information. The user selects and reviews the profile for each job or Scope.

Planning choices

  • Time-first: favors fewer cutter-head changes.
  • Material-first: favors material efficiency even when more changes are required.
  • Exact cutting or manual trim: follows the selected Film Catalog cut policy and maximum manual-trim allowance.

Operator guidance

The plan can provide cutter-head positions, lane assignments, pull sequence, cross-cut instructions, changeovers, cleanup pulls, pieces produced during each step, and a segmented visual roll map. The Film Handler Setup Guide packages the saved plan as operator guidance.

Compatible modes

Film Handler planning can be used with Single-Roll and Multi-Roll when otherwise supported. It cannot currently be combined with Film on Hand.

What Precision Film Systems does not do

  • Electronically control a Film Handler
  • Send instructions directly to a machine
  • Confirm machine calibration automatically
  • Replace operator review
