How does cut-plan usage work?
Solo includes a monthly cut-plan allowance, Shop provides cut plans for normal shop use subject to fair-use restrictions, and Flex uses purchased cut-plan packs.
A cut plan is used when a new optimized result is generated after valid pane geometry or quantities change. Reopening saved results, reviewing diagrams, changing result views, printing, or changing only Group labels does not use another cut plan.
What is the window-row limit?
Solo and Flex support up to 20 unique window rows per job. Shop supports up to 50 unique window rows per Scope. Repeated panes should use quantity on one row.
Groups do not increase the limit. Oversized Shop projects can be divided into additional logical Scopes. Solo and Flex users should create separate jobs.
What is the difference between Groups and Scopes?
Groups label panes inside one Scope for rooms, elevations, phases, or other useful areas. They do not create independent optimization runs, films, pricing, photos, or production plans.
Shop Scopes are independent planning sections with their own panes, Groups, film, pricing context, photos, cut plan, and production plan. The customer and overall project remain shared. Compare Groups and Scopes.
What is the difference between Single-Roll and Multi-Roll?
Single-Roll uses one selected standard width. Multi-Roll uses at least two selected standard widths and assigns panes across them.
Multi-Roll is not finite-length inventory planning. Standard plans longer than 100 feet are divided into physical rolls.
How is Multi-Roll different from Film on Hand?
Multi-Roll uses selected standard widths without finite available lengths. Film on Hand uses individually entered physical rolls, each with an actual usable width and positive usable length.
Film on Hand rolls are saved with the job, but Precision Film Systems does not maintain a running shop inventory balance or subtract material after production.
What does Finish Remaining do?
When entered Film on Hand rolls cannot place every pane, Finish Remaining plans the unplaced panes on standard material. Those standard physical rolls appear as purchasing requirements on the Film Order Sheet.
Film on Hand cannot currently be combined with Film Handler planning.
What does the Film Order Sheet calculate?
The Shop Film Order Sheet preserves individual planned physical rolls, reports required footage for each standard physical roll, and rounds its minimum order length up to a 25-foot increment. It groups requirements by film and width and identifies assigned Scopes and Groups.
Film on Hand rolls are excluded. Finish Remaining standard rolls are included. Precision Film Systems does not confirm supplier packaging or stock, add contingency film, or place the order. Read the Film Order Sheet guide.
What is the Film Catalog?
The Shop Film Catalog is a user-managed reusable list that starts empty. It can store manufacturer, film name, category, warranty defaults, available widths, selling price and cost by width, a default-film choice, and Film Handler cut policy.
It is not a preloaded manufacturer library, specification database, compatibility tool, or live inventory source. Read the Film Catalog guide.
What does Sun Map show?
Shop Sun Map uses job coordinates, satellite imagery, month, and facing direction to show the monthly sun path, sunrise, solar noon, sunset, peak solar elevation, direction, and facing match.
It is an exposure-awareness and presentation aid, not thermal engineering, glass-risk analysis, energy modeling, compatibility analysis, or an automated film recommendation. Read the Sun Map guide.
How does estimate sharing work?
Precision Film Systems creates a secure link to an exact finalized estimate revision. Email opens the user's configured mail application with a prepared message, and Text opens the device SMS composer. The user sends through their own application. Precision Film Systems does not directly deliver email or SMS.
The secure link can also be copied and shared through another channel.
What does recorded estimate acceptance mean?
The customer enters a name, acknowledges the displayed terms and documents, and responds to the exact finalized revision that was shared. Precision Film Systems records the decision, response time, terms acknowledgment, customer note when provided, and available audit metadata. Only one decision is accepted for that revision.
This is not identity verification, an e-signature certificate, payment collection, or automatic production authorization. It does not replace contracting, deposit, scheduling, or production-authorization processes.
Can Precision Film Systems plan for a Film Handler?
Yes, with Shop. Precision Film Systems can plan from saved machine profiles, support time-first or material-first planning, and create a Film Handler Setup Guide with head positions, lanes, pulls, cross-cuts, changeovers, and operator guidance.
It does not electronically control the machine, transmit instructions to it, confirm calibration automatically, or replace operator review.
What attachment work does Precision Film Systems support?
Shop can store attachment-related job context, calculate required attachment linear feet from the measured panes, apply configured attachment pricing, and carry those details into relevant estimates and output.
Precision Film Systems does not decide whether attachment is required, approve a security-film system, perform anchoring engineering, confirm compatibility or code compliance, or replace manufacturer instructions and professional judgment.
Can Precision Film Systems be installed on a phone?
Yes. Precision Film Systems runs in a compatible mobile browser and can be installed as a Progressive Web App without a traditional app-store download.
It is online-first. Installing the Progressive Web App does not provide full offline access to private jobs, optimization, or synchronization.
What does the free demo include?
The free demo includes one flat-glass job using the core Solo and Flex workflow. Enter measurements, compare standard roll widths, review material results, and generate a Visual Cut Diagram and Window List.
Shop modules and Shop settings are not included. No credit card is required.
Does Precision Film Systems replace CRM or business-management software?
No. Precision Film Systems is the specialized planning layer between measured residential and commercial flat-glass work and the material, pricing, estimate, and production decisions that follow.
It is not CRM, scheduling, accounting, invoicing, payment collection, persistent inventory, automotive pattern software, machine control, or a compatibility-approval system.
How does Flex work?
Flex provides the Solo core planning workflow without a recurring base charge. Enrollment includes a one-time 5-plan or 10-plan pack, and another pack can be purchased when needed. Packs remain valid for 12 months.
Can I cancel a subscription?
Yes. Manage the subscription through the account or Paddle receipt. Paid access continues through the end of the current billing period. Refund requests are handled under Paddle policy and applicable law. See Cancellation and Refunds.
